New Balance Basketball has officially unveiled the Maxey v1, the first signature sneaker for Philadelphia 76ers guard and two-time All-Star Tyrese Maxey.

After first surfacing earlier this year and making its on-court debut during the 2026 Play-In Tournament, the model is now set for a wider release. The New Balance Maxey v1 launches worldwide on October 2 for $129.99 through New Balance and select retailers.

Built around Maxey’s speed and quick changes of direction, the Maxey v1 features a dual-rail plate system designed to provide forward propulsion while supporting lateral movement. FuelCell cushioning handles responsiveness underfoot, while sculpted outriggers add lateral containment and a centerline flex groove allows the shoe to move more naturally in multiple directions. Multidirectional traction extends from heel to toe.

The upper uses a caged construction with a refined fit, added volume through the midfoot and arch, and a sculpted heel intended to keep the foot locked in. The launch colorway pairs a predominantly black base with light blue overlays wrapping across the upper and into the tooling, finished with white laces and lining.

New Balance also pulled from its lifestyle catalog when developing Maxey’s first signature model. The upper lacing takes inspiration from the New Balance 2002, while the sculpted outriggers reference the 9060. A blue Flying NB badge appears on the heel, with “Maxey” branding on the tongue and sockliner and “V1” on the lace keeper.

That lifestyle influence was intentional for Maxey, who wanted the shoe to be recognizable as a New Balance design even without relying on the traditional “N” logo. The result blends several familiar elements from the brand’s running and lifestyle catalog into a basketball-specific package.

The black and blue launch colorway will release October 2, 2026, via NewBalance.com for $129.99, with additional Maxey v1 colorways scheduled to follow throughout the year.
