Kevin Durant’s sixth signature sneaker is set for a long-awaited return next year, with the Nike KD 6 "Meteorology" expected to release during July 2026. Originally released in 2013, the colorway quickly became one of the most recognizable from Durant’s early Nike era, inspired by his childhood dream of becoming a meteorologist.
The KD 6 "Meteorology" stood out for its black and Atomic Red color scheme, accented with weather map-inspired graphics across the upper — a nod to radar patterns and storm visuals. The low-cut silhouette introduced a lightweight, aerodynamic build with a streamlined upper, a sharp departure from the bulkier basketball models of its time. Featuring a mix of synthetic materials, a full-length Zoom Air unit, and Flywire support, the sneaker effortlessly balanced performance and visual storytelling, which has been synonymous with the KD signature line.
More than a decade later, Nike looks to recapture that nostalgia with the 2026 reissue

The Nike KD 6 "Meteorology" is slated to release on Friday, July 3 via Nike.com and select retailers.
