Though the Air Force 1 is not immediately the first footwear that comes to mind when you mention the 3M reflective finish, but over the years the low-cut streetwear staple has seen its fair share of Scotchlite inclusions. This special-edition release, though, will be an official collaboration between the two long-standing partners from Oregon and Minneapolis, with a 3M x Nike Air Force 1 celebrating a union that dates back to the early 1990s.
A mix of tumbled and smooth white leathers (the latter only at the heel) form the bulk of the construction, creating a blank canvas for the pair’s unique inclusions. They are hex-patterned 3M panels wrapping the rear and vamp, and metallic silver Swooshes, tongue tags and heel panels — the latter complete with contrast zig-zag white stitching. Black leather heel overlays align with the pair’s black liners and nylon tongues, and the pair is complete with spotted flat laces and co-branded tongue tags.
