San Diego's Arts-Rec is rumored to have a Nike SB collaboration in the works.

Founded by Kellen James in 2018, the skate shop has established itself as the premier destination for not only fans of the sport, but also sneaker enthusiasts. Over the last six years, Arts-Rec has launched handfuls of high profile Nike and Jordan Brand products, which will reportedly include its own Nike SB Dunk Low and Nike SB Air Trainer 1 (you read that right).

First reported by Romania-based Sneaker Market, the inaugural collaboration is likely to release between July and September based on internal Nike documents reviewed by the outlet. Arts-Rec's Nike SB capsule reportedly features a combination of fall-friendly colors–including 'Khaki/Amber Brown' on the Dunk and 'Earth/Desert Sand' on the cross-trainer. It's possible each color scheme has drawn inspiration from the San Diego area and some aspect close to James' personal story.

An official look has been unveiled by ArtsAndRecStore via Instagram give us a flimpes at the collaboration's Dunk which reveals a pinkish tone across leather panels around the heel and at the forefoot. A leopard-reminiscent print covers the bulk of the pair, working together with some of the aforementioned fall-friendly hues to create a style that's equal-parts loud and reserved. arts text appears on at least one of the heels, while the tongue's underside seems to include more artwork from the skateshop.

News of the special linkup arrives after the success of Nike SB's Air Jordan 4 'Pine Green' release, and prior to the Summer 2025 launch of its sequel–the Navy Jordan 4 SB. The Air Trainer 1 wasn't developed as a skateboarding sneaker, but its rumored inclusion in Arts-Rec's first collaboration with the Swoosh suggests the brand continues to play around with some of its heritage models through the lens of the action sport.

Arts-Rec will host an early launch of its Nike SB collaboration in-store on Friday, July 18. The first 300 pairs of its SB Dunk Low sold at Arts-Rec Barrio Logan will be offered with a custom Safari Trunk. The First Come, First Served release takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. local time at 2161 Logan Ave in San Diego.

The Air Trainer 1 by Arts-Rec has been confirmed for a release on Tuesday, July 22, via online channels. Stay tuned for more details.
