Although his debut signature model was widely criticized for seeming too simple, Devin Booker and his Nike Basketball team were intentional with the Book 1's classic design. The NBA guard wanted a shoe that mimicked some of his vintage car collection, which includes three different Chevrolet Blazers from 1972. Today, Booker and the Swoosh unveiled a three-way project that sees the modern hoops model and Blazer Low reworked with the help of the storied American automobile manufacturer.
The Phoenix Suns star was heavily involved in the collection's development process, intentionally considering color palettes, campaign material, and accompanying apparel items. The footwear trio faithfully borrows its colors from Booker's own Chevrolet cars: "Dark Gold Leaf" animates the modern-classic Nike Book 1, while the old school Blazer features "Team Dark Green" and "Surf Blue" suede construction across the upper. Book text replaces typical Nike logos on the low-top Nike Basketball pioneer, while the Book 1 joins the Blazer Lows in boasting Chevrolet's iconic emblem on the tongue label and insole.
Both sneaker silhouettes arrive in custom packaging that harkens back to the '70s, while also cementing the historic collaboration between two North American institutions.
