Back in 2018, Nike SB enlisted four prominent skate shops across Western Europe to completely rework the Nike Blazer. It resulted in a silhouetted dubbed the Club 58, a numeral that has reappeared on a handful of SB drops in the proceeding years — most recently, the Nike SB Dunk Mid “Griffey”. Now, it’s reappeared on this Nike SB Dunk Low “Gulf” that’s expected to arrive later this year.
According to @NikeSBorNothing, the style references the vintage 1970 Porsche 917 Gulf race car, (pictured below) and does so by mimicking the car’s infamous hues. In honor of the 50-year-old car, the pair present a full blue-green suede upper with striking white and black accents along with vibrant orange outsoles beneath. Chanelling the race car’s numbers is a Club 58 badge tacked onto the lateral ankle. Its fattie mesh tongues come capped with the same 58 insignia as the upper, while black, white or orange laces hold the vamp tight. Completing the design is a crisp white outsole that’s tacked on with black contrast stitching and the aforementioned rubber outsole in orange.
