In a rare lawsuit-to-collaborative tale, British streetwear label CORTEIZ will be releasing its very own edition of the Air Max 95.
Sued by the Swoosh back in 2021 due to an alleged conflict with their “Cortez” trademark, Nike has seemingly flipped on its confusion, instead employing the label to put a spin on London’s favorite trainer. The “110” as it’s known in the city — the sneaker’s original price tag — will be overhauled in earthy olive, khaki, and charcoal, with striking pops of golden-yellow threadwork and Air supports. Alterations to the mesh overlays, removal of the eyestays in favor of net loops, and the toggle lacing system are unique to the collaboration, with camo liners and CORTEIZ-branded tongues rounding out the design.
Update 03.03.23 CORTEIZ has unveiled two new colorways of their Nike Air Max 95 collaboration in their “RULES THE WORLD” campaign video shared on Instagram yesterday. Both seemingly close copies of each other, the pairs anchored in black and charcoal present wither pink of blue branding at the toe and tongue, while camo prints dress the insoles. A wider retail and SNKRS release has yet to be announced.Update 03.20.23 The CORTEIZ x Nike Air Max 95 will release in it’s “Pink Beam” colorway tomorrow, March 21st at 12:05 PM ET via a pop-up in NYC on West 34th St & 7th Ave., with the location revealed on the day. Joining this news is official Nike.com imagery, suggesting that an online release will follow.Update 04.04.23 Official images for the CORTEIZ x Nike Air Max 95 have landed in its grey/blue colorway. A release date has not yet been set.
