Devin Booker's 2024-25 NBA season ended without a Playoffs run, but the Phoenix Suns guard is still cooking. He recently took to Instagram Stories to unveil his Nike Book 1 in a Mexico-inspired makeover.
Reminiscent of Cinco de Mayo drops by Nike SB, the pair features a white-colored base contrasted by rich green around the collar and lower heel, and deep red across the forefoot. The color-blocking is near-identical to the aforementioned projects by the Swoosh, which include a special version of Paul Rodriguez's signature model from 2006. Although the ensemble might seem random for casual fans of the NBA guard, the look makes perfect sense considering Booker's mother is of Mexican descent.
Throughout the years, Booker has been vocal about his Latin American background, and responsibility to be an example for aspiring hoopers with similar backgrounds. Furthermore, the pair has been unveiled on May 5, a date that commemorates an important battle in the state of Puebla against France.
No word's been shared about a Nike.com retail launch for the pair, but that's likely to change soon.
