Nike's "Dirty" dotSWOOSH Air Force 1 Low Pack Gets Cleaner with Wear
Regardless of your stance on dirty sneakers, it seems Nike is having some fun with the topic through the development of a "Dirty Triple White" and "Triple Triple Black" Air Force 1 Low duo.
Shared across social media by Brendan Dunne from Complex, the pairs are a conceptual project set to launch exclusively across the U.S. in early May. Instead of arriving crisp out-of-the-box, the .SWOOSH shoes appear heavily worn, featuring faux creasing and dirt accumulated across the leather upper and sole unit. A card included with the pair—at least seeded ones—explains the idea behind the "Dirty Triple White" and "Triple Triple Black" releases: the more they're worn, the cleaner they become.

The science behind how the team at Nike was able to achieve a reverse-effect on Bruce Kilgore's iconic design isn't explained on the card, but Dunne shares that the upper "wears away." The brand has also included a "toothbrush" with each pair to allow folks to clean their sneakers without having to wear them.
Middle school teacher and photographer extraordinaire, Andy Dutton, took to social media to share an in-depth look at both offerings. Dubbed the "Smoke & Mirrors" Air Force 1 Low Pack by .SWOOSH, the project plays with popular memes regarding "cooked" sneakers. The concept has already been criticized by some netizens, but others have expressed enjoyment in the brand making things "fun."
Stay tuned for more details. Pairs will hit Nike SNKRS exclusively in the U.S. on Wednesday, May 7, for $130.
