Loved by youths the world over, the Nike Air Max Plus is one of those sneakers that — at least out here in Australia — kids start their journey into kicks. And rightfully so, as the Tuned Air icon often delivers a slew of banger exclusives for kids, often in very kid-friendly colorways. This next edition is just that, pairing select pops of vibrancy with a dirt-friendly black base — and it doesn’t hold back on the contrast, either. The titular light grey hue hits the pair’s solid vein overlays, as well as the toe cap, mudguard, and rear panel. It pops up again on the tongue tip, laces, and midfoot shank, providing a perfect contrast to its surrounding black mesh. Because of this effect, the pair’s white midsoles almost blend in, before being highlighted by bright red Air supports. Swooshes follow suit and are countered by an equally warm “High Voltage” yellow along the eyestays. Completing the design is a solid black rubber outsole, 3M detail through the forefoot, and classic TN branding in the tail.
