
Jason Tatum’s Nike Air Max 97 Honors His Home State of Missouri

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has teamed up with the Swoosh to release a special-edition rendition of the Air Max 97, in what is his very first sneaker collaboration — aNd hE’s oNLy 21! 🤪
Paying homage to his hometown roots in Missouri, the pair not only sports the red, white and black of his alma mater Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur, but it also arrives with a mudguard covered in etchings of the Gateway Arch (also referenced through the shoe’s metallic silver midsole), his 314 area code and more.
Tatum joins other young-gun Nike athletes to design their own sneaker this year, joining Sacramento King De’Aaron Fox and his Air Max 1, scoring machine Devin Booker and his Air Force 1 and reigning Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons with a Nike Blazer Mid — all of which will commence releasing from May 31st, when Fox’s “SWIPA” AM1 hits stores.
As for Jason Tatum’s Nike Air Max 97, it will be releasing on June 13th at select House of Hoops by Foot Locker and June 15th across the Foot Locker family of brands, including Champs, Eastbay, and Footaction.
