The Nike Cortez's 50th anniversary came and went, but the silhouette continues to form part of the brand's product lineup.
Born in 1972, the design cemented the Swoosh's place in the performance running scene. Throughout the years, it's been overshadowed by more modern options, all while becoming a fashion legend amongst certain audiences.
Ahead of summer, the old school model has emerged in a Kids-exclusive ensemble reminiscent of a recent Air Force 1 Low "Just Do It" offering. The pair primarily indulges in a clean "White" look across its familiar build, but profile swooshes introduce a plaid pattern into the mix. Hits of green, yellow, and blue animate the iconic logo, and also divvy up the Achilles' heel and foam wedge at the heel. A velcro strap appears near the top of the tongue, with a tie-donning kangaroo mascot landing on the top of the laces. The patch is depicted wearing Nikes, adding a playful spin to the Cortez.
Enjoy official photos of the plaid-donning Kids' sneakers ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com soon.
