Kobe Bryant's New Nike Icon Lakers Jersey Reminds You to "Leave A Legacy"
The tragic, unexpected passing of Kobe Bryant on Jan. 26, 2020 sent shockwaves through the sports world and pop culture-at-large. It isn't uncommon to read online comments from people expressing how they've yet to recover from the loss. Over the years, Nike. Inc. has collaborated with the "Black Mamba"'s estate to deliver products and kick off initiatives dedicated to everything the championship-winning competitor stood for. Their latest effort arrives in the form of the "Leave A Legacy" Icon Jersey.
A modified version of the jersey Bryant wore during his final NBA game on April 13, 2016, the Los Angeles Lakers top features the team's iconic yellow-and-purple color scheme. The jersey's body favors a golden tone, abandoning purple accents on the sides. The number 24 appears on the front and back of the design, with the latter area also donning Bryant. As with other apparel products inspired by the late athlete, messaging dedicated to the Lakers legend arrives near the bottom hem. Leave A Legacy text lands right above the left-hand side's sizing label, simultaneously serving as acknowledge of everything Kobe Bryant left behind and a reminder to wearers and spectators alike to strive to do the same.
The "Leave A Legacy" Icon Edition Lakers Jersey is the latest tribute to the Black Mamba. A number of different Kobe 6 Protro and other gear is set to release throughout the remainder of the year. With Mamba Day fast-approaching (Aug. 24), more Bryant-related products will likely surface soon.
Enjoy a look at the special edition jersey ahead. A Nike.com release should take place soon for around $100.
