LeBron James is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Lakers organization, but that didn't stop him from lacing up a purple-accented Nike LeBron 24 for his first regular season game as a Philadelphia 76er as part of the 2026 NBA Opening Night.
If you didn't know, "King James" has a decade-spanning history of wearing special Nikes at Madison Square Garden. Last night's pair could be another Player-Exclusive (P.E.) with some backstory inspired by New York City, but that hasn't been disclosed by any party involved. (House of Heat° reached out to the Nike Basketball Team for more insight, but they hadn't responded by the time of writing.)
While on court, no detail about the purple LeBrons stood out enough to make their muse clear, although branding elements do feature a multi-colored, iridescent finish. The all-new KingKnit material across the upper also indulges in a hue that flirts between purple and blue, adding depth to the ensemble.
An official press release for the LeBron 24 mentioned that the silhouette would feature a number of colorways rooted around five principles—including wonder, family, fear, luck, and discovery. The pair James laced up against the New York Knicks on Oct. 20, 2026 could reflect one of these ideas, with the rainbow logos across the shoe potentially reflecting the notion of wonder.
