LeBron James is gearing up for his 23rd NBA season. Before he and his Los Angeles Lakers squad take on the League, the "kid from Akron" will visit China with Nike Basketball as part of his Forever King Tour.
Throughout September, James will visit the country's cities of Shanghai and Chengdu, connecting with longtime and new fans alike. His latest visit—which marks his 15th with the Swoosh—serves as a 20th anniversary celebration since the first time he visited China. Over the years, the four-time NBA champion has strengthened his connection to Asia's hoops fans, launching special product and supporting exclusive initiatives in the region.
"There’s an unbelievable love and appreciation for basketball in Asia that’s always incredible to experience," shared James. "To have the opportunity to share the game with fans and connect with athletes all over the world means a lot to me."
While in China, LeBron James will work directly with young athletes from the latest cohort of the Nike RISE program. These tested-and-proven hoopers will receive focused training under the personal guidance of "King James." The final RISING 10 rosters for boys and girls will be unveiled before the chosen cohorts face off against Nike Elite Youth Basketball League teams in Chengdu.
