The Los Angeles Lakers are one game away from being eliminated from the 2026 NBA Playoffs. The odds have been stacked against the SoCal-based squad all postseason long due to injuries, but that hasn't stopped LeBron James from putting on jaw-dropping performances at 41-years-old.
On Saturday, May 9, the Ohio-native laced up another special-edition of the Nike LeBron 23 silhouette. Since the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, Nike Basketball has been telling the story of "King James" through narrative-driven ensembles of his 23rd signature shoe. The Swoosh, however, has sprinkled in custom one-off pairs throughout, with Saturday's footwear choice falling into this category.
James dropped 19 points in 37 minutes while wearing a LeBron 23 inspired by Kith's "Closing Ceremony" LeBron 15 collaboration from 2018. Like its predecessor, the Player-Exclusive (P.E.) style features embroidered flowers across the knit upper. A crown-shaped sole unit breaks up the all-over execution, but still captures the understated elegance of Kith's project from eight years ago.
It's unlikely the "Closing Ceremony" LeBron 23 receives a Nike.com release, but more unexpected things have happened.
