Since its inception, Nike SB has been a leader in creative expression. The freedom to be who they were born to be mantra made them a perfect fit for inclusive campaigns like Pride Month and female-forward skate brands. They offer more than just a cool shoe, but a meaningful one. Set to continue this branch, Nike SB team rider Leo Baker is getting their own signature silhouette dubbed the Nike SB React Leo.
Leo, one of Nike SBs only transgender skaters, has always used their platform as a professional in the skating world to champion the LGBTQIA community they proudly represent. Aside from their work in the skating world, Leo has also worked in the creative world by starring in a Netflix special “Stay On Board,” and working on zines as well as other endeavors in this space. For their first signature sneaker, Leo’s silhouette will feature one of SB’s favorite cushioning systems – React.
It features a mid-rise build, a lightweight textile upper, and sweeping suede overlays atop a heritage-inspired midsole rise and flat sole; it also features padded collars and vintage perforated leather toes.
