Regardless of your stance on the matter, footballcore is here to stay. From iconic jersey reissues to more and more products and initiatives inspired by the beautiful game, the world's biggest brands are committed to becoming synonymous with the sport ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Nike is amongst those leading the charge, and it's recently tapped Maha Amsterdam for help with its mission.
Since 2015, Maha has been delivering a curated selection of global womenswear to the Dutch capital, fostering a sense of community in the process. The retailer has been a strong proponent of the recent Total 90 III indoor shoe's revival, demonstrating just how popular the retro performance design is amongst women. Its co-sign of the low-profile silhouette has seemingly led to a proper Maha Amsterdam collaboration with Nike, a project recently unveiled via social media by Veneda Carter.
Unveiled via several on-foot shots, the impending drop marries the Total 90 III's upper with Nike Shox technology underfoot. The resulting product isn't new: the hybrid design actually debuted in 2003, but had long been overshadowed by other offerings from the expansive Swoosh catalog. Maha Amsterdam's rework, however, is refreshing and will surely serve as a high-energy push for the eventual Nike Total 90 Secutor Shox Magia retro run.
A "Metallic Silver" upper steals the spotlight, with "Black" accents across the off-set design delivering standard contrast. The Shox cushioning at the hind-foot arrives with a plastic heel counter that falls in line with a current vis-tech trend. The column-shaped technology opts for a blue tone that works well with the shimmering silver found across the bulk of the Total 90-Shox mashup.
Enjoy early looks at the Maha Amsterdam collaboration ahead. Pairs are expected to release soon, although a global Nike.com launch is unlikely.
