Nike Matches the Popular Air Max 270 to Each MLB Team's City Connect Jersey
Major League Baseball's Opening Day is Thursday, March 27. All but two of the League's 28 teams will kick off their 2025 campaign on this date, treating fans to another exciting season. To commemorate the occasion, Nike, the official outfitter of the League, will launch its popular Air Max 270 sneaker in color schemes inspired by every team's City Connect jerseys.
The full scope of the collection has yet to be seen, with pairs for the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies leading the charge. If you follow MLB closely, you know that teams occasionally update their alternate uniforms, which often feature more colorful, narrative-driven details inspired by their respective cities. The Nationals' second City Connect offering, for example, nods to the capital's grid layout and cherry blossom trees; it's set to debut on Saturday, March 29.

Each commemorative version of the Nike Air Max 270 casual shoe is expected to match every City Connect jersey faithfully. The Rockies' pair, however, doesn't feature the colors found on its current style. A sequel is expected to debut on Friday, April 18, and the newly-surfaced Air Max could hint at what to expect from the Colorado-based franchise.
The League's emblem lands on the top of the tongue, right underneath iconic swoosh logos. Custom graphics dedicated to each team are printed onto the insoles, while a traditional Air wordmark on the spine is replaced with special patches from every franchise. The sneaker keeps its beloved dual-cushioning setup intact, ensuring the same ride that made it one of the best-selling sneakers in North America in its first few years on the market.
Stay tuned for official photos and shopping links for the entire MLB Air Max 270 City Connect Collection. Pairs should begin rolling out via Nike.com soon, with each pair likely retailing for $160. Matching jerseys should also launch before May.
