The NBA and WNBA Celebrate 100 Years Combined With Special-Edition Air Force 1

With the National Basketball Association preparing for its 75th anniversary season, we’ve seen a slew of NBA-branded footwear options flood the market. But what about the WNBA? They’re celebrating their 25th year this year, too, putting both leagues at a combined 100 years old — and that’s something worth celebrating. And that’s exactly what the Swoosh has done with this new NBA x WNBA x Nike Air Force 1 Low.

Clad in multiple colors and materials, the pair spreads pops of teal, purple, and red across its silky nylon upper. From there, the pair is overlayed by a bevy of black leathers from the quarter to the eyelets, and the toe, with tongue, laces, and liners all following in hue. Heel overlays opt for a golden-yellow textile, while basketball-textured Checks alternate between red and blue. Without any official confirmations, it’s safe to say that the concoction of colors is meant to represent each league’s franchises. Said leagues are represented at the added lace bling and interior tongue tags, with the entire design coming together atop a simple white sole unit to complete the design.
