On-Foot Looks at the NBA 75th Anniversary x Nike Dunk Low Collection

Celebrating its 75th birthday this month the National Basketball Association (NBA) has delighted fans the world over for over seven decades. It’s also birthed countless classic footwear icons from the Chuck Taylor to the Air Jordan 1. Amongst that list of hardwood-turned-streetwear sneakers is the humble Nike Dunk, and it, along with the NBA, will be celebrating the Association’s diamond anniversary with two special team-themed releases.

(Unofficially) honing in on heavily-supported franchises the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls, the celebratory kicks come clad in respective team colors, with Chi-City’s black and red met with aged-look sail and white, and the Knickerbockers’ signature orange, blue and white linking with blacks and greys, too. Both pairs are set to arrive with special callouts to the event (now revealed to be special anniversary tongue tags and diamond-etched dubraes), as well as limited-edition packaging for the pairs.

A third colorway from the NBA x Nike Dunk Low “75th Anniversary” Collection has appeared donning a retro Brooklyn Nets’ scheme. Their logo, which was present during their days in New Jersey, is featured on the lateral ankle, while both its color is reflective of their red white and blue duds, and its unique blocking consistent with the pairs thus far. It once again features the 75th-anniversary diamond motif at the dubrae and tongue tag to complete the design.

A release date for the NBA x Nike Dunk Low “75th Anniversary” collection has been earmarked for October 19th, with the Nets Dunks already confirmed on Nike.com for the date. We’re still waiting on confirmation for the Knicks and Bulls pairs.
