Nike's ACG Air Max Goadome boot might not be in its heyday, but it's never lost relevance amongst a core audience in cities like New York and Washington, D.C.. Most recently, the silhouette emerged as a Low—thanks to Frank Cooker.
The muse for Wale's "Nike Boots" song from the mid-2000s, the Goadome was revolutionary for its visible Nike Air cushioning, rugged outsole, and tall, built-to-last upper. Cooker's previewed design modifies the most latter aspect of this list, making it a lot more wearable year-round due to the shorter collar. Public reception has yet to play out, but if history is indicative of anything, it's that the Air Max Goadome Low will have some trouble winning over longtime fans of Carl Blakeslee, the model's original designer.
The Timberland® Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boot—one of the Goadome's most popular competitors—has been offered in low-top/chukka form to unfavorable opinions from diehard evangelists of the OG. The Goadome, then, could suffer a similar fate, but that's still to be determined.
Enjoy an early look at the update ahead. Pairs could release via Nike.com by November, but neither party involved as yet to confirm a retail launch for the product. Stay tuned for details.
