Boy, that came around fast — It was around this time last year that Nike officially unveiled their game-changing self-lacing hoops shoe, the Adapt BB, and now, just twelve months on, the Beaverton-based brand are looking to extend their auto-lacing line with a second edition dubbed the Nike Adapt BB2.
Today we get a first look at the sequel silhouette, and it brings with it an entirely design. The shapeless, clog-like OG did look a little plain, but the design team at Nike HQ has given the new silhouette some life, thanks to the introduction of a slightly more streamlined look, more overlays, and bolder heel clips. TheAdaptive Fit system is now exposed at the tongue, while the dual tightening/loosening. buttons remain at the lateral midfoot. Additionally, the shoe makes use of Zoom cushioning at the Forefoot (the Adapt BB was full foam). Take a peep at the sneaker below:
A release date for the Nike Adapt BB2 is not yet known, but there are whispers of a wide release this Spring — but it’s very likely to see an initial debut by athletes at the upcoming All-Star Weekend in Chicago alongside a pre-order/Quickstrike release. As always, keep your eyes glued to our Twitter feed for further updates, including first looks and a list of retailers who’ll be stocking to drop.
