Nike has made it their mission to make wild dreams a reality. And so they should, with their abundance of innovative resources and rich history of invention playing significant roles in the brands rise to the top of the industry. The self-lacing dream was imagined by none other than Tinker Hatfield, who achieved the incredible feat with the HyperAdapt back in 2016. Now, just four years later, that tech has advanced to a level so far from its beginnings, and it’s been lead by the brand’s self-lacing Adapt BB series. The sophomore Adapt BB 2.0, designed by Ben Nethongkome of Kyrie 5 and Kyrie 6 fame, improves on the freshman pair in several ways. The shoes now feature fore-foot Zoom (the 1.0 just used Cushlon), the midsole stack height was reconfigured for better heel-to-toe movement, the detailing on the shoe has greatly improved from its shapeless aesthetic, and most importantly, the shoe is easier to put on. Now, it returns in its most vibrant colorway to date with this Tie-Dye Nike Adapt BB 2.0.
Aside from the aforementioned color bomb, which here covers the mesh upper, and sole unit strikes, the pair arrives in pretty clean fashion. Housing the rainbow print is a white-translucent netting overlay, which connects back to beautifully tumbled leather quarters and tongue pulls. It showcases a mosaic of black nubs across the vamp to from the famed Swoosh, and it also houses an embroidered check on the instep. Icy-translucent accents cool the pair down a little more, hitting the heel lock, outsole and midfoot, and the pair is complete with special Tie-Dye graphic insoles.
A release date for this Tie-Dye Nike Adapt BB 2.0 is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to arrive this Summer for $350. More information on the sneaker and its release will be landing soon, so make sure you’re following HOUSE OF HEAT on Twitter for all the updates!
