In the mid 1980s, the Air Force 1 ruled the streets. Sneakerheads from all boroughs would hop on the uptown subway line to hit the only stores where the kicks were sold. That’s how the sneaker got it’s nickname

Nike will be honoring this story with a series of new Air Force 1 Low Upsteps, decked out in upwards pointing arrows. How . . . original. The insole are dope, though, with the red pair donning the NYC Subway map, and the black pair’s pattern matching its outsole.
Both pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 Low Upstep “Uptown” Pack will release in women’s sizing (such a shame) on August 9th at select Nike retailers and Nike.com for $140 a pop.
