The Nike Air Bakin is back in a big way for 2026, with Nike lining up several colorways of the bold 1997 basketball model for the Fall/Holiday season. Alongside the already-expected OG reruns in “Varsity Red” and “Varsity Royal” pairs, the retro run will also include this cleaner Nike Air Bakin “Black/White.”
Unlike the louder colorways that helped define the model’s original on-court attitude, this pair keeps things simple. A mostly black upper covers the nubuck, mesh, leather, and textile panels, letting the Air Bakin’s wavy overlays and sculpted midsole shape do most of the work. The tonal build gives the shoe a more wearable feel while still keeping its late-90s hoops DNA intact.
White accents appear sparingly, landing on the mini Swooshes at the ankle and midsole, as well as the oval branding at the toe. The visible heel Air unit also breaks up the dark base, while the rest of the shoe stays locked into a blacked-out finish from the laces down to the outsole.
It’s a smart addition to the Air Bakin’s comeback slate. The silhouette has never been quiet, but this “Black/White” colorway gives it a more everyday lane, offering a calmer option next to the bolder red and blue pairs expected to lead the charge.
The Nike Air Bakin “Black/White” is expected to release during Nike’s Fall/Holiday 2026 lineup. Further release details are expected to follow soon.
