The original Nike Air Bakin OG “Varsity Royal” colorway is officially set to return for Holiday 2026, bringing back one of the silhouette’s most recognizable and authentic looks. First released in the late ’90s, the Air Bakin stood apart from the pack with its aggressive lines, molded construction, and unmistakable on-court presence.
Reported by Sneaker Files and Zsneakerheadz, the upcoming is expected to stay true to the original Varsity Royal execution, featuring the familiar blue upper contrasted by black overlays and a black midsole. Metallic Swoosh detailing and visible Air cushioning in the heel round out the design, preserving the same bold aesthetic that defined the model’s original run.
The return of the Varsity Royal pair is part of a broader resurgence for the Air Bakin. The Varsity Red-based OG colorway is also expected to release in Fall 2026, making this another confirmed entry in Nike’s renewed focus on the silhouette.
