Over the years, Nike has made a concerted effort to create fictional clubs, teams, and even people. The Roswell Rayguns are arguably the most famous, but we’ve also seen made-up running and training clubs over the years. Now it looks to a new-yet-old concept — the Nike Athletic Club — which puts its roots firmly in the 1970s and 80’s era of community gymnasiums. First, we revealed a retooled Nike Blazer Mid followed a handful of Uptowns— but now it’s time again to join the gym, with this all-new Nike Air Force 1 “Athletic Club” appearing in a sporty mix of Black, White, and University Gold.
As has been the case with the other Uptowns from the collection, this too features all the pack’s themed elements such as retro tongue, heel, and insole branding, heritage leather, and suede construction, and “AIR FORCE 1” embroidered at the lateral ankle. Its colors are greatly different from the others, though, but they still fit in with the overarching theme, as they could be easily transferable to any sports franchise across the globe.
Official images of the Nike Air Force 1 “Athletic Club” have arrived, though a release date has not yet been set. While we await further details, grab a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep our eyes glued to our official Twitter accountfor further updates on its release
