Alternating between the Air Max 97 and the Air Force 1 Low, Nike’s annual Puerto Rican Day release has recently been under scrutiny. From flipped flags to misappropriated artwork, Nike has been feeling the heat with all the mishaps. Perhaps this Nike Air Force 1 Low “Borica” for Puerto Rican Day 2022 might finally nail it without flaw.
Clad in pastel suedes, the pair looks to mismatched blocking across the two feet, with blue, purple, gold, peach, pink, and red-orange splayed across the pair. Mid panels and toe receive seemingly random perforations, but one would suggest that these reference the game of dominos, as indicated on the special set of dubraes. Consistencies between the two feet are few, with white Swoosh and heel overlays, leather liners, and white and blue sole units the only mirrored finishes. The pair is then completed by special Puerto Rican heel branding and colorful insoles that scream out several specifics.
A release date for this new Air Force 1 Low “Borica” is yet to be revealed but you can expect to see a rollout in June during the annual Puerto Rican Day celebrations.
