Bruce Kilgore's Nike Air Force 1 Low design from 1983 has lived many lives since its debut. Although it debuted as a performance-first silhouette for basketball, the low-top model has gone on to become a fashion staple. Its latest "Boucle" ensemble seemingly doubles-down on this detail, arriving in a presentation reminiscent of a Chanel collection from 2014.
Similar to the "Souvenir" OTW by Vans project that dropped in August and September, the latest from Nike Sportswear features a faux-aged look accompanied by a number of decorative details across the upper. The Air Force 1's "Desert Moss/Midwest Gold/Baroque Brown" color scheme evokes images of Chanel's Graffiti Messenger Bag from 2014's "On the Pavement" collection. Pins and metal hardware don't join the mix, but "Fierce Pink" accents on the tongue, heel, and laces reinforce the sneaker's connection to the high-fashion piece. Beaded profile swooshes and a speckled sole unit round out the ensemble.
Enjoy official photos of the "Boucle" Air Force 1 ahead. Pairs are scheduled to begin launching worldwide on Friday, Dec. 12.
