Let’s take a minute to give Nike’s in-house Air Force 1design team a big ol’ pat on the back. Over the past 12 months alone, we’ve covered well-over 200 pairs of Uptwons, and we’re certain there’s at least half as many again that made it to market. Just how they manage to bring new and fresh ideas to the table is unfathomable, yet they continue to deliver. The next is one that retools, redesigns, and revitalizes the silhouette through the use of canvas construction, cut-in Swooshes, and an elegant color palette to match.
Starting with an all-white base — a blank canvas, if you’ll allow me the pun — you’ll find double, and even triple branding at the profile Swoosh, tongue, and rear. The former sits into a light tan canvas base, with white leather Checks elevated up and out, lined with embroidery to its inferior. Dual branding continues at the Blue Void insoles, tongue tags, and rear overlays, with the color continuing on to the outsole beneath. Completing the design is a handful of LAser Blue-like hits at the midsole detail, metallic dubraes, and spur-shaped upper eyelets.
