Nike Wraps the Air Force 1 Low in Faux Cheetah Fur

Bruce Kilgore's Nike Air Force 1 Low has been cemented in the annals of sneaker history for decades. As the silhouette commences its next 40-year run, it's emerged in a healthy mix of high-profile collaborations and compelling inline styles. The latter category has recently added a cheetah-inspired makeover to its roster.

Reminiscent of past Nike Sportswear products donning leopard, zebra, and other animal-reminiscent prints, the newly-surfaced pair features a "Baroque Brown/Sail/Sesame" color scheme. Although the trifecta reads tame on screen, it presents Kilgore's "presidential" design in one of its wildest updates of the year thus far. Faux fur replaces traditional leather across the upper, which also includes off-white contrast stitching between panels. Profile swooshes, Achilles' heel layers, and tongues also deviate from their fur surroundings in material and color scheme. Each reworked overlay dons a spotted makeup that evokes images of the fastest land animal in the world.

Underfoot, the tried-and-proven, basketball-informed sole unit keeps things simple. The Air-assisted midsole opts for a "Sail" tone that simultaneously sets the stage for the wild top-half and classic gum brown outsole. Together, each aforementioned component helps expand the AF-1's legacy within the lifestyle realm.
