NYC isn’t the only city to be celebrated on the Air Force 1 Low this Fall, with Chicago getting their own Windy City-inspired take on the Nike icon. The black-based “Chicago” Air Force 1 Low arrives anchored in buttery-soft tumbled black leather, along with matching black liners and midsoles. Chicago city flag/skyline tongue tags, pay an obvious tribute to the Windy City, as do Bulls-themed cow fur heel overlays, Irish green insoles that mimics the St Patrick’s Day dyeing of the Chicago River, and the tongue liners arrive in a red and white pinstripe that’s reminiscent of White Sox unis from the early 70s. In one final callout to the city’s heritage, checkerboard print peers through the outsole’s translucent-blue finish, paying tribute to the iconic Checkerboard Lounge on Chicago’s South Side.
A release date for these homage-packed Chicago Air Force 1 Lows has been set for December 5th — but we’re still waiting on a list of retailers for the drop.
