Given the sheer amount of releases year in, year out, you might not have recognized that Nike has upped the ante for the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1. With such an abundance of Uptowns for years, Nike may find it hard to cut through this year for such a big anniversary, but that’s exactly what they’ve done here — literally — with the pair’s iconic Swoosh motif cut-out along the pair’s mid panels.
Evoking memories of the famous 3M Snake scheme, the pair arrives in a closely-aligned mix of black leather uppers, color-matched tongues and liners, and a bevy of grey overlay overlays. The latter is, of course, not reflective, nor does it boast a light grey finish, instead opting for a darker, cooler leather finish, It’s Swooshes are in-set in a piercing white — and no they’re not shown to be reflective, either. All of this comes to a close on a simple white and black sole unit, with grey AIR lettering on the midsole completing the design.
A release date for this new Air Force 1 is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to release soon — so be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates. Until then, enjoy an official look at the pair below.
