Though there’s been plenty of noise around the model’s 40th-anniversary offerings, the Air Force 1’s mainline releases have been quietly delivering some intriguing options in the background. The silhouette’s emerging “See-Thru” collection is one such series, as it’s packed full of heritage and contemporary twists in equal measure. First up, we saw the classic “Triple White” colorway receive TPU midpanels and cutout panels to reveal everything from the wearer’s socks to snakeskin and bright leather pops; Its next looks to the legendary CO.JP “Wheat Mocha” colorway from the early 2000’s and delivers it in much the same fashion.
In essence, the pair is a replica of the 2020 re-run, with flax suede uppers and chocolate brown accents set atop a semi-translucent gum midsole and brown rubber outsole. Here, though, the Swoosh has dissected the forefoot and mid panel to reveal Asian-inspired prints and colored leathers beneath (there’s other incisions on the right shoe, too, but not pictured here)
Given the series so far, you can expect to see a few more old favorites chopped up, too.
While an official release date for this new-yet-familiar Air Force 1 Low has yet to be revealed, the surfacing of product imagery would suggest that a release is on the way.
