The Houston Comets, one of the original eight teams in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), etched their names in the annals of basketball history by winning an unprecedented four consecutive championships from 1997 to 2000.

Coached by the legendary Van Chancellor, the team was led by an extraordinary trio known as the "Big Three" - Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson. Their remarkable synergy, talent, and relentless pursuit of victory made the Comets unstoppable.

To celebrate their unparalleled success, Nike will honor the four-peat with a special-edition Air Force 1 Low and Mid for Summer 2023.

Simply delivered, the Low option sports a scheme inspired by the now-defunct franchise's home court kit. Here, white leather uppers, tongues, liners, laces, and insoles host a handful of navy accents with even fewer pops of red. The Swooshes and heel overlays are treated to a navy satin finish, the former trimmed with jersey-style embroidery, the latter denoting their four championship years. A particular four-finger motif is embroidered onto the lateral ankles in a silver thread to mimic the color of the Championship Trophy, while a simple white and navy sole unit completes the design.

The Mid takes a similar route, though it looks to navy leathers with white-trimmed red Swooshes.
