Nike is set to honor Kobe Bryant's legacy with a special Air Force 1 Low Proto MM collection in 2025, inspired by the historic MPLS jerseys famously worn by Bryant during his time with the Lakers.
The collection is slated for release by the Holiday 2025 season and will feature two distinctive colorways: "Soft Yellow" and "Light Armory Blue," according to information sourced by House of Heat° and Elden.
These hues pay homage to the Minneapolis Lakers’ jerseys, reflecting a significant chapter in the storied franchise's history before relocating to Los Angeles.

The MPLS jerseys, characterized by their unique color scheme, were occasionally donned by Kobe Bryant, adding nostalgia to his illustrious career. This upcoming collection aims to celebrate this lesser-known but equally important aspect of Lakers history through the iconic Air Force 1 silhouette, a fitting tribute to the team and its legendary player.
Romania's Sneaker Market recently shared an early on-foot shot of the capsule's "Light Armory Blue" style. In comparison to initial mock-ups, the Black Mamba-inspired AF-1 features a lenticular, scale-like finish across all of the upper, not just select panels. The sole unit underfoot also opts for a semi-translucent, tonal makeover that matches the top-half.
You can check out speculative mock-ups below to enjoy what both pairs could've looked like. And while you wait for the "Lenticular Pack" to arrive, shop all Air Force 1s currently available via Nike.com.
