From fireworks to the Lion Dance, China sure knows how to bring color and celebration to the annual Lunar New Year festivities. So it should come as no surprise that footwear brands look to work in many of these colorful elements when it comes to their annual Chinese New Year footwear collections. Already we’ve seen two Dunk Lows dedicated to this year’s celebratory animal, the rabbit, as well as a slew of multi-color, multi-Swooshed releases that serve as a secondary collection with less obvious accents. That being said, this new Nike Air Force 1 Low “Leap High” is heavy-handed on the extras, but like other like-minded releases, this doesn’t directly call out the Chinese New Year, instead opting for traditional prints and graphics, along with countless callouts to the colorful fireworks displays forever linked to the annual celebration.

Central to a classic white-on-white construct, color is splayed across the pair in the form of embroidered Swooshes and silver streaks, flecked sole units, and written word — all of which focus on hues of orange, red, teal, and gold. The aforementioned patterns sit atop the tongue and insole, with marble-look dubraes rounding out the design.

Though a release date did not accompany the image set below, you should expect to see pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 “Leap High” arrive at select Swoosh stockists in time for Lunar New Year 2023.
