Nike is looking deep into the roots of the Air Force 1 for its 40th-anniversary celebrations, going as far as reinstating the iconic “Color of the Month” program that made waves back in Baltimore in the early 2000s. The next to do so is this special-edition Nike Air Force 1 “Orange Jewel” as part of the program — a series that includes a special hangtag toothbrush, the original midsole cleaner from way back when.

First looks at the pair show a fairly simple design, with striking orange uppers paired with white branding fluttered throughout. Riding the pack’s retro wave, the pair enlists old-school Nike Air text in the back, and the aforementioned toothbrush that reads ‘Since 1982’ (not pictured) as a tribute to the OG sneakerheads who — in a time before specialty cleaning kits — kept their steps fresh with an Oral-B

While an official release date for this all-new Color of the Month Nike Air Force 1 “Orange Jewel” has yet to be revealed, the surfacing of the pair would suggest that a release is imminent.
