Tartan has plaid a big role in Nike’s Holiday lineup for 2022, with everything from the Nike Blazer to the Air Jordan 1 Midreceiving a festive fit-out for the months ahead. Thus far, the colors have been set firmly in traditional tartan hues of red, green, and white, reiterating the holiday focus, but the next pair to surface, the Nike Air Force 1 “Plaid,” differs, not in textile, construction, or even the model used, but in its overarching color palette.

Here, the pair presents in buttery chocolate leathers, with creamy Swooshes and midsoles working with light gum rubber outsoles that result in a finish reminiscent of a delicious dessert. From there, tartan/plaid textiles dress the heel in tonal hues, that both link it to the aforementioned sneakers, and distance itself at the same time.
