Over the past week, Nike has presented the Air Force 1 in many playful propositions. The silhouette has gone heavy-handed on whimsical themes, from love letter-adorning arrangments to a caffeine-fuelled colorway— and even one inspired by stick-on name tags. Once again Nike will be layering on the extra butter — both figuratively and literally — with this premium Air Force 1 Low “Popcorn”.

For this playful pair of popcorn kicks, we find a beautiful buttery leather upper in both shade and texture. Crisp white contrast throughout, hitting the smooth leather Swooshes, nylon tongue, laces, liners, and midsoles. The latter sits atop a cream outsole and also adorns the hue at the heel detail. Special tongue tags take on a retro movie theatre approach, donning a striped finish that replicates old school popcorn boxes. The rear Nike Air embroidery follows suit, while, fittingly, the inside shows crispy, golden popped kernels across the graphic insoles. Completing the design is a special lateral ankle imprint reading “fresh since ’82” in a melted butter hue, an awesomely cool golden popcorn hangtag, and special-edition packaging to boot.
