Positive vibes only.
Joining the two tie-dye Air Max 97s which were revealed by us just yesterday, comes an Air Force 1 Low, which gives us the best hint yet at the inspiration behind the collection — Chicago’s annual Summer of Peace march, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. The peaceful protest took place on the 14th of June this year, with Chi-City residents taking to the streets in the name of love, anti-violence, and positivity.
The pair, aside from its obvious psychedelic 60s-inspired tie-dye canvas upper, is linked to the movement via Peace motifs printed on the insoles, and Nike tongue and heel branding that correlates with the march’s Enough is Enough — Act Now! event branding (seen below). Said branding also ties in nicely to the hometown Bulls’ City edition uniforms, thus making it a perfect addition to any Chicagoan’s rotation.
Chicago natives Jennifer Hudson and Chance the Rapper participate in the 15th annual Summer of Peace march in Chicago.
With the march already done and dusted, and the Summer in full swing, you can expect pairs of these peaceful color-popped Tie Dye Air Force1 Lows to hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.comover the coming weeks, so make sure you keep your eyes locked on our Nike Release Dates pages for drop-date updates!
