Back in the early 2000s, Nike experimented with translucent toe boxes on the Air Force 1—a design that quickly became notorious for revealing more than intended. The clear TPU forefoot panels invited sockless wearers, leading to steamy, fogged-up displays that have since earned their place in sneaker lore. These moments regularly resurface on social media under “remember when?” nostalgia posts. Now, it’s more like “get ready,” as Nike plans to bring back the trend for Summer 2025.
The upcoming release reimagines the clear-toe concept with a cleaner, more modern execution. The Air Force 1 Low arrives in crisp white leather, paired with icy blue translucent panels across the toe, midfoot, and heel. Tonal branding keeps things simple, while a metallic AF1 dubrae adds a touch of shine. The midsole retains the traditional white-on-white build, rounded out by a blue-tinted translucent outsole to echo the upper accents.

While this 2025 edition clearly draws from its early-aughts predecessors, it leans into a more polished, wearable form that might avoid the pitfalls of the past.
Official images of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Translucent Toe” have been shared, with a release expected to land on Nike.com this summer.
