Over the course of a 12 month period, we’d find ourselves writing well over 200 pieces on new Air Force 1 colorways, all of which arrive different from the last. That in itself is a testament to Bruce Kilgore and the incredibly designed Air Force 1, and also to Nike’s in-house design team who manage to find new and often wonderful ways to dress the silhouette. The next one isn’t outstanding by any means, but it’s exemplary of just how subtle texture changes and minimal blocking can create a fresh aesthetic.
Here, the silhouette’s customary all-white base is upgraded with heavily-tumbled leathers throughout, with mid panels and toe boxes opting for something slightly softer. The pair’s popping Team Red Checks arrive alongside matching rear overlays in sporting a basketball textured finish, while a simple splash of red at the tongue and the inclusion of golden dubraes complete the relatively reserved design.
Check out the official photos below, and look for this minimal Air Force 1 Low “Team Red” to release in the coming weeks at select retailers and Nike.comfor an expected $110.
