Drops Date TBA
Nike is bringing visible Air Units to a second Air Force 1 Mid this season.
While the first colorway seemed to tribute the brand's storied legacy, this sophomore colorway seems designed to capture the essence of sun-soaked afternoons and balmy evenings. A warm "Sail" serves as the primary shade, enveloping most of the shoe's exterior and setting a neutral backdrop for the pops of color to come. The mesh Swoosh at the midfoot soars in a zesty "Lemon," however, the most striking feature might be the vibrant green Air bubbles in the midsole, which give off a "Lime" vibe that perfectly complements the shoe's overall theme.
These color choices aren't merely aesthetic; they bring a whole new emotional resonance to the shoe. While the visible Air units initially nodded to technology and innovation, the colors in this version translate that technology into something more experiential—capturing the essence of a perfect summer day. Think fresh lemonade and lush green grass; this shoe brings those sensory experiences to your feet.
Much like its predecessor, this second colorway maintains unique aesthetic touches like the cut-out Swoosh and modified mid-foot strap that spans only across the tongue. And, of course, it retains the visible Air cushioning units, placed strategically at both the heel and forefoot and highlighted by an intricately patterned outsole that draws attention to the innovation at hand.
Although a specific release date is yet to be confirmed, sneakerheads should keep their eyes peeled for this avant-garde addition to the Air Force 1 lineage, expected to drop later in the Holiday 2023 season.
