Nike Fits the Air Force 1 Mid With Visible Air

As the Holiday 2023 season looms, Nike is gearing up to introduce a novel iteration of the iconic Air Force 1 Mid—an innovation that truly pushes the envelope in archival sneaker design.

This forthcoming release, dubbed the "Evo," capitalizes on Air Force 1's historical claim to fame: it was the first basketball shoe to feature Air cushioning technology.

In a ground-breaking move, Nike is taking this foundational element and thrusting it into the spotlight. The Air cushioning units are visible and externally embedded into the sole for the first time. These Air-filled pockets look dramatically at both the heel and the forefoot, peeking out from the sidewalls like in Air Max models. Moreover, the outsole carries a detailed pattern, signifying the exact areas where this visible Air technology is employed, thus amplifying the visual drama of the shoe.

Beyond its technological upgrades, the Air Force 1 Mid showcases aesthetic tweaks that set it apart from its predecessors. The signature Swoosh and heel tab feature uneven cut-out detailing, offering a unique take on classic elements. The standard mid-foot strap has also been modified; it now spans only across the tongue, giving the shoe a streamlined appearance without sacrificing its original identity.
