1998’s Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Chocolate” Returns on June 9

A classic Air Force 1 returning this year as part of the silhouette’s 40th-anniversary celebration, with first looks at a retrospective Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Chocolate” coming to light for 2022.

First hitting shelves way back in 1998, the delectable delivery in its plush chocolate suede and creamy accentuations made for an instant classic. During the era when Mids were in the same class as Mikes, these were one of the finest. For 2022’s reissue, all those memories come flooding back — but what you’ll be getting isn’t exactly a perfect match — but it is close. First looks at the release courtesy of @ervinshoes show a chocolate hue leaning more toward the red side than the original, with added contrast stitching along the midsole adding enough difference when compared to the 24-year-old release. Then there’s the shape — but we won’t get into that argument. All of this will arrive in a retro orange/tan box and tissue wrap, though the original was housed in a red and black box (think Mike’s Air Jordan 12s!)

A release date for the Air Force 1 Mid “Chocolate” is yet to be revealed but with pairs already in the hands of collectors, one would suggest that a release is happening very soon.
