Over the past few years, Nike has kept their cult-followed Air Force 1 Mid on ice, instead, shifting their focus heavily towards the widely-loved Low. But with the silhouette now in the midst of its 40th-anniversary celebration, it’s all hands (and models) on deck. The Mid made a triumphant return on a duo of NYC-themed releases late last year, and will also lend itself to collaborations from Stussyand OFF-WHITE in 2022, too. Before we get there, the Swoosh has recently unveiled a handful of new GR drops, including the return of the “Independence Day” colorway, and now, this all-new double-Swooshed stinger.
Arriving atop a sail sole unit lightly peppered with colorful Grind Rubber comes to a simple grey leather construct with simple white accents at the tongue, laces, and brand embellishments. It so happens that two of those embellishments arrive extremely oversized, with both profile Swooshed and medial NIKE lettering coming in as obvious as you can get. The former works more towards the toe, whilst the lettering on the instep sits towards the heel. Finally, the pair is finished with a collage of colorful Nike logos cut-and-pasted to form a new Nike Air motif.
A release date for this “Overbranded” Nike Air Force 1 is yet to be revealed but with official images for these now available, one would suggest that a release is happening very soon. Until more details emerge, grab a first and exclusive look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further developments.
