A Second Basket-Woven Air Force 1 “NAI-KE” Appears
Venture back to 1980, when Nike delved into a new realm of Swoosh-free sneakers crafted in one of their Chinese factories. Though the iconic "The One Line" series of prototypes never really made it to market, the collection certainly holds a special place in Nike's history. In 2023, the Swoosh will again pay tribute with a novel "NAI-KE" Air Force 1. The latest version diverges from the recently showcased sashiko patterns and naturally dyed canvas, opting instead for an eye-catching panel inspired by traditional basket weaving techniques.
Primarily adorned in gentle cream leather, the sneakers' tongues and mid panel display a woven texture. The latter shows a unique woven panel in tan, sail, and mossy green that gracefully stretches around the back, merging with the rear overlay. A leather Swoosh in a complementary deep green adds depth to the design. Light green leather graces the interior and insole, while luxurious leather tongue tags and dubraes add elegance. Additional details include NAI-KE branding on the heel, green enamel upper eyestays, color-coordinated heel accents, and a soft green rubber outsole.
