The humble Air Force 1 has become the perfect baseline for Nike’s in-house design team to really test their flair. From 2018’s seven-piece set of reimagined designs for and by women, to something as audacious as the recently-revealed “Black Tie-Dye” rendition, its versatility speaks volumes. Always down for experimentation, the next release turns the staple sneaker into something of a conversation starter, with a glitchy “Pixel” Air Force 1 redefining the silhouette’s sleek lines and ever-iconic sole unit. After debuting in a clean triple white option, the pair has popped up in a slew of pastel-popped options — and even a snakeskin-riddled pair — it now introduces two new materials: canvas and suede.
Here, it’s leather uppers arrive in a warming sail hue, while overlays of Buclton suede work in-hand with Coconut Milk canvas Checks at the midfoot. Further hits of the titular hue hit the liners and insoles, before sail returns along the tongue, laces, eyelet overlays, and geometric dubrae. Completing the design is a solid white sole unit capped off with pops of Lemon Drop underfoot.
A release date for the Nike Air Force 1 Pixel “Coconut” has not yet been identified, but you should expect to see pairs hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com in the new year. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
